Identify the ceiling material before choosing a cleaner
Find the product reference, finish and care instructions. A ceiling tile may be PET felt, mineral fiber, fiberglass, fabric-faced material or a finished wood construction. A photograph or the word acoustic is not enough to identify which cleaning method is permitted.

Plan access and inspect the condition
Arrange suitable access for the height and site conditions. Keep cleaning loads off the tiles and suspension system, and coordinate work around lights, electrical equipment and services. Ask the responsible facilities team or installer whether a tile may be removed and how it must be reinstated.
Look for sagging, loose attachment, staining, damaged faces or recurring moisture before cleaning. Resolve the underlying source of water or contamination with the responsible team. Repeated washing is not a repair for a damaged tile or leaking construction.
Test the permitted method on a small area
- Read the current instructions for the exact product and finish.
- Choose an inconspicuous area or a spare piece for the approved method.
- Use only the permitted tools, pressure, moisture and cleaning product.
- Allow the area to dry as instructed, then check color, texture, edge condition and attachment.
- Stop if the finish changes, fibers lift, a mark spreads or the tile becomes distorted; request product-specific advice.
Where gentle vacuuming is permitted, use a suitable soft attachment without pressing into the face. Do not default to compressed air, aggressive brushing, steam or soaking. A stain treatment should be approved for the selected surface rather than presented as universally chemical-free or harmless.
Keep cleaning and acoustic performance claims separate
This guide does not establish that dust has no acoustic effect, or that cleaning restores a particular absorption value. Do not repaint, seal or coat a porous finish without approval. Appearance after cleaning is not a verification of acoustic performance.
Set the inspection and cleaning schedule around the installed product, site conditions and maintenance guidance rather than a universal interval. Record the method, date, observed condition and any replacement pieces.
Prepare a maintenance record for the installed panels

Do not substitute a visually similar tile without checking dimensions, supports and required documents.
